In this course we will study Canada’s development, beginning with colonization in the 16th century all the way up to 2000. Along the way, we will cover topics such as:
- What is Canadian Identity?
- How have French-English tensions shaped Canadian history?
- What role did the First Nations play in the early development of Canada?
- What have been the effects of British Imperialism in Canada...
- on the First Nations?
- on the French?
- on other ethnic minorities & immigration?
- on Canadian identity?
- How have Canadian-American tensions shaped Canadian history?
We will address all of these while building important academic skills to prepare students for Grade 11, 12, and University.
