  • Welcome to BCA's Citation guide for APA and MLA styles.

Courses in BCA and at the university level do not tolerate plagiarism (For more information on plagiarism, see page 4 of the BCA Student Handbook). Students sometimes accidentally plagiarize, but at every level, it is taken as seriously as intentional plagiarism.

In order for all students to benefit, this reference page is a collection of citation references and resources used by BCA teachers.

MLA Citation (For English and Social Studies)

At BCA, MLA requires the use of MLA-style in-text citations--added in the line where a resource is referenced--and a works cited page at the end of the document.

MLA-style in-text citations vary based on the exact source, but generally it is placed in parentheses with the primary contributor's last name and the page number of the reference.

The Works Cited page is placed on its own page and titled Works Cited. Each reference follows the below format:

Last Name, First Name. Title of Book. Publisher, Publication Date.

See the links below for more details and examples.
